Superlative form of adjectives
USE
  • We use the comparative form plus than to compare two people,animals ,thing,animal,or place. We use the plus superlative form plus of /in to compare one person,thing,animal,or place with more than two people ,things,animals,or places in the same group.

Tom is tall. Maria is taller than to.Bod is the tallest of all.(i..e of the three, Bob is the tallest)

we use in in the superlative when we talk about places.

The A mazona rainforest is the biggest forest in thr world.(NOT of the world)

Form

  • Adjectives of one or two syllables (i..e..,short adjectives) form their comparative by adding -er and their superlative by adding -est.

Tall-- taller-- tallest

  • Adjectives of more than two syllables (i..e..,longer adjectives )form their comparative by adding more and their superlatives by adding most.

Beautiful- - more beautiful-- most beautiful

  • Some adjectives such as clever ,friendly, ect. form the comparative with er or more and the superlative with -est or with most.

clever --cleverer/more clever --cleverest/most clever
